FOL Program: Kevin Carson

Kevin Carson, who grew up in Dayton, will be sharing from his recent book, The Long Journey of the Nez Perce: A Battle History from Cottonwood to Bear Paw. The book explores the Nez Perce War, one of the pivotal campaigns of the Indian Wars. A former Army Engineer, Kevin brings his intimate knowledge of the territory crossed by the Nez Perce, along with his skill as a cartographer, to reconstruct in detail the battles and skirmishes along the entire route of the conflict. Carson is interested in historical incidents where people bravely contested overwhelming odds. The author explored the rivers and mountains of the Pacific Northwest as a young man and now enjoys mountain hikes and fly fishing. He lives in Idaho with his family.
