Get to Know Your Gadget

Get familiar with your tablet/smart phone/e-Reader ... or just try one out in the gadget menagerie! Evelyn Lindberg and Joe Olayvar will be visiting the Denny Ashby Library on Tuesday, Dec. 15th at 10:30 with the Washington State Library's "Gadget Menagerie." This collection includes a Kindle Fire HD (1st Generation), Nook HD +, Galaxy Note 10.1 Tablet, iPad (4th generation), Windows Surface RT (2nd generation), Google Nexus 7, Asus Transformer Pad, and a Chromebook. This is a great opportunity to see what these devices look like or bring in your own device and questions. Evelyn will instruct in an informal setting. Instructions on how to get photos off mobile devices and onto a computer will be covered as this was a common question at earlier sessiosn. Remember if you are bringing in a device to make sure it is charged and that you know your Apple or Amazon password or the password to your tablet, and your email password.  There will also be an opportunity to learn how to download eBooks and audiobooks from the library.  The Denny Ashby Library offers eBooks and downloadable audiobooks through its web site, pomeroy.lib.wa.us. For more information, contact the library: 843-3710.
